[architecture] Afghan Cultural Centre 21/24

Leveraging accessibility to create a flowing composition.  This is how we did it…

Accessibility:  Completely handicap accessible from multiple directions.

There are two main ways for the handicap to access the lower level outdoor atrium and thus all public spaces:  one is a ramp that overlooks the temporary exhibition space accessed from the Main Lobby, the other is situated outdoors between the Great Lawn and the public building entering the Circular Atrium at the Tea House.  All interior spaces are also equipped with ramps, from the exhibition spaces, library, and academic and administrative wing, all rooms are completely accessible meeting ADA requirements (handrails are not shown).
